My Review: 3/5
I am really confused about whether I liked this book or
not. One point, it is like a biography of a famous person, on the other side,
it is like an inspirational book but at the end, it’s a fictional with lots of
twists by Sidney Sheldon. Sometime, the story is quite slow but it is easy to follow. Whatever the story may turn into, the
ending was good though.
It is a story of a very ambitious woman: Lara
Cameron. Coming from a poor family, she has a dream to become rich and conquer
the world under her name. She is shown like a wonder woman. Her
continuous rise to the top was very inspiring but too much detail about small
things made it quite boring sometimes. Her love life was interesting and
the way author highlighted the problem that can come into when two ambitious
people from different fields come together was very interesting and realistic. Overall, the book was okish. Once in a while,
I involuntarily put myself in her shoes and actually, I would love to see
myself as ambitious and courageous as her.
Looking at positive side, if reading other people’s story
inspires you, this book is for you.
